This past weekend was a struggle for a few Michigan Division I college hockey teams, but the top team in the state continued to roll.

Every week, MLive will rank all seven teams, provide their latest results and look ahead to their next opponents.

There was only one change this week, and one team fell out of the U.S. College Hockey Online rankings, with two still remaining in the top 20.

Here are MLive’s fifth rankings of the season.

Record: 3-8-3 (2-4-2 WCHA)

Last week’s ranking: 7th

Last weekend’s results: Split with Alabama-Huntsville, winning 3-1 on Friday and 5-3 on Saturday

Highlights: Junior forwards Diego Cuglietta and Jacob Hand gave the Lakers a 2-0 first-period lead on Friday, and Max Humitz added an empty net goal with eight seconds remaining in the third.
