KALAMAZOO, Mich. – In the first tournament of the season, the Western Michigan men's tennis team ended the final day of the 2017 WMU/Vredevelt Invitational led by senior Maik Steiner who picked up a singles win today and was the only player to finish 3-0 at No. 1 this weekend.

"I think we had a great singles showing this weekend, especially Maik, Eric and Jannik," commented WMU head coach Dave Morin. "We have been emphasizing and focusing on individual work more than doubles in practice, I believe we have the individual pieces but we just have to spend more time on playing with each other and we will be more successful in our doubles play.
