COLUMBUS, Ohio – Strong performances in the sprints and middle distance highlighted Western Michigan track and field's final day of competition at the Jesse Owens Classic at Ohio State University
Junior Erin Dowd once again stood out, finishing fifth overall in the 400-meter dash after running a personal-best time of 54.57 seconds. Her time is a Mid-American Conference Championship automatic qualifier and currently ranks sixth in the conference. Her time also ranks ninth on the all-time WMU performance list.
Junior Madison Meredith had WMU's top finish on the day, taking second place in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.
