Spartans Outlast Broncos in Close Contest

East Lansing, Mich. - Western Michigan men's tennis fell just short of victory at Michigan State on Friday evening, as the Spartans defeated the Broncos by a final score of 4-3 in East Lansing.

At No. 1 doubles, the senior duo of Jannik Opitz and Kennosuke Nouchi won convincingly over Anthony Pero and John Carlin 6-0. The Spartans prevailed in the other two matches to take the doubles point, with Josh Mukherjee and Kazuki Matsuno defeating freshmen Arjun Honnappa and Rodrigo Crespo in a tie-break to clinch the early 1-0 advantage.
