TOLEDO, Ohio - Western Michigan took a 5-1 victory in game one before falling in the seventh inning, 8-7, during game two of today's softball doubleheader at Toledo. WMU junior pitcher Anissa Sanchez recorded the win in game one, throwing a complete seven innings and striking out two.
Junior left fielder Aspen Williams provided the offensive pop in the lineup during the day going 4-for-5 at the plate including two home runs, three runs scored and four RBIs. Freshman right fielder Mackenzie Swinehart went 4-for-7 while senior Ivy Schaaf extended her hitting streak to 11 games.
