Six Men's Tennis Student-Athletes Named Academic All-MAC

CLEVELAND – The Western Michigan men's tennis program landed six student-athletes on the Academic All-Mid-American Conference Team announced by the conference office.

Senior (4.0, applied statistics), sophomore (4.0, business), senior (3.21, marketing), junior (3.80, finance), junior (3.95, business analytics) and junior (3.37, accountancy) earned the honors. Opitz and Honnappa were just two of five student-athletes in the conference to post 4.0 GPAs. WMU's six selections led the MAC.

The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
