Second Period Woes Doom Broncos at No. 14 Denver

DENVER, Colo. -- The Western Michigan hockey team suffered its first sweep of the season, falling at No. 14 Denver, 5-2, at Magness Arena on Saturday night.

The Broncos (6-4-0, 1-3-0 NCHC) gave up four goals in the second period after entering the period with a 2-1 lead.

WMU picked up goals from Max Sasson and Drew Worrad but finished the night getting outshot 32-27.

Sasson gave the Broncos a 1-0 lead with a goal at 9:36 in the first period. Josh Passolt had the puck in the corner and went behind the net, then centering it to Sasson for his first collegiate goal.
