Sophomore Ronnie Attard has been named Bauer NCHC Defensemen of the Week after he helped Western Michigan hockey sweep the Miami RedHawks this past weekend.
This is the third time this season that Attard won the award after earning five points on two goals and three assists along with helping the Broncos go 4-4 on the penalty kill against Miami.
Friday, in the home finale, he scored on a power play opportunity and earned an assist. Sunday, in Oxford, Ohio for the regular season and series finale, he earned two assists and netted the go-ahead goal that would push the Broncos to victory.
