Report: NCAA's Football Oversight Committee suggests six weeks of practice before play begins

The NCAA's Football Oversight Committee has suggested a six-week practice period before games can be played, according to a report from Brett McMurphy of Stadium.

The six-week period will reportedly not be officially recommended until the committee receives the approval of the NCAA COVID-19 Advisory Panel.

There are seven opening-week games scheduled for Aug. 29 with 12 FBS teams involved. For those programs, a six-week practice period would mean starting around July 20.

The other 118 team FBS teams are scheduled to play between Thursday, Sept. 3 and Monday, Sept. 7, which would mean those program would need to return to the practice field by Monday, July 27 to meet the six-week suggestion.
