KALAMAZOO, Mich. – It was a record-breaking day for the Western Michigan gymnastics team in its 196.600-195.175 victory over Eastern Michigan on Sunday at University Arena.
The team score was the second-highest in program history and a season-best. Senior tied the program record on floor with a near-perfect routine that netted a 9.975 score. Murphy also went on to break her own program record in the all-around with a 39.500. As a team, WMU set a new program match record on floor with a 49.525.
WMU had six individual scores of 9.90 or higher on the day, including Murphy's record-tying performance on the floor.
