Predicting WMU's 2017 football season game by game

KALAMAZOO, MI – New York Yankees hall of famer catcher Yogi Berra once said, “It’s tough to make predictions, especially about the future.”

The words from the dugout philosopher and eight-time World Series champion are as true today as ever, and Western Michigan football fans need look no further than the 2016 season to affirm Berra’s sentiments.

Coming off a pair of 8-5 seasons signaled good things for the Broncos’ program, but even the most optimistic fan struggled to see a 13-0 campaign heading into Week 1 against a ranked Northwestern team.

But predictions are tough, and only through hindsight can we see how talent at the skill positions and the growth of a young defense created the perfect storm to roll through the Mid-American Conference with a perfect record.
