CLEVELAND – Following the 2020 Mid-American Conference regular season gymnastics championship, Western Michigan received two of the league's top individual awards Monday as senior Amelia Mohler was named the MAC Co-Specialist of the Year and head coach Penny Jernigan the MAC Coach of the Year.
The All-MAC first and second teams were based upon national qualifying scores (NQS), while the postseason awards were voted upon by the league's seven head gymnastics coaches.
Mohler became the first MAC Specialist of the Year for the Broncos as she took part in 10 meets this season and served as Western Michigan's anchor on the beam and bars.
