Mid-American Conference announces plans for postponed fall sports to operate in spring

The Mid-American Conference has announced an operational plan for fall olympic sports to operate in the spring of 2021.

The presidents and athletic directors of the MAC schools considered recommendations for each sport from groups of administrators, coaches, student-athletes, faculty, facility and medical personnel in making the decisions around the implementation of those sports in the spring.

Volleyball, men’s and women’s soccer and field hockey have received approval to operate this winter/spring while men’s and women’s cross country is still under consideration.

Each sport will be playing a modified conference schedule and will be played over dates that will allow the MAC champion from each sport to participate in NCAA competition following the completion of the MAC season.
