CHICAGO- Western Michigan and DePaul faced off in an exhibition match Saturday, marking the Broncos' first preseason contest of the 2017 season. The two sides played to a 1-1 tie through regulation and settled the score in penalty kicks rather than overtime play. Western Michigan came away with the win, 4-2 on PKs.

"Overall I was pleased with the 90 minutes," said WMU head coach Chad Wiseman. "We had many questions headed into the contest, we didn't get them all answered but we return home knowing a lot more about this team."

WMU starting goalkeeper Drew Shepherd made three fist half saves and turned another away in the second half, playing just over 70 minutes.
