KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- Melina Lyubomirova, a sophomore on the Western Michigan women's tennis team, was named the Mid-American Conference (MAC) Singles Player of the Week the conference office announced Wednesday.

Lyubomirova was the lone Bronco to earn a win over Michigan State, as the sophomore defeated Erin Faulkner in comeback fashion 2-6, 7-3, 1-0 (10-4) at No. 1. She improved to 13-8 this season, 7-3 in dual matches and has won two straight. This is the first MAC award for the Broncos this season.
