The love of soccer for Jay came from his dad in Jamaica where they spent the early years of Jay’s childhood.
“My parents wouldn't let me play any other sport, it was in our culture to play soccer,” McIntosh said.
McIntosh soon realized that he loved the game of soccer and it was all history from there. He came out of high school as a highly recruited player. The Kalamazoo native scored 80 goals and 30 assists in his three years at Loy Norrix High School. He played his senior year with the Vardar Academy team. McIntosh had great speed and strength coming out of high school and colleges all over the country wanted him.
