Meet the team: 2018 WMU softball

This year, Western Michigan University softball has four seniors, five juniors, six sophomores, and four freshmen. This year’s team gives experience for Head Coach Kathy Leitke, plus she'll have enough underclassmen for the next few years.

The freshman class consists of infielder Kaylen Glenfield, catcher/infielder Cari Padula and outfielders Samantha Pico and Mackenzie Swinehart. Appearing in 20 games so far, Garden City native Glenfield has made three starts and recorded her first career home run against Northwestern State. Padula has made eight starts as catcher and tallied her first collegiate hit against Holy Cross.

California native Pico has appeared in 30 games and has scored the Broncos seven runs this season.
