COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Western Michigan senior captain Hugh McGing has earned the final Bauer National Collegiate Hockey Conference Forward of the Week award for his performance in WMU's sweep over Miami.
McGing had five points on the weekend with four goals, including his first collegiate hat trick, and an assist as the Broncos took down the RedHawks 5-2 and 8-4, securing home ice in the upcoming NCHC Quarterfinals.
In Friday's 5-2 win McGing had six shots on goal and scored WMU's second goal of the game, giving them a 2-0 lead in the first period.
