COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Western Michigan freshman forward Max Sasson has been named National Collegiate Hockey Conference Co-Rookie of the Month for January.
Sasson had a breakout month with five points in the four games, helping the Broncos to a 3-1-0 record. All three wins came over top 10 opponents. The Birmingham, Mich., native had at least a point in each game, tallying two goals and three assists.
Sasson opened the month with a pair of assists in the 4-1 win over No. 9/10 North Dakota. The followed it up by scoring the game-winning goal the next night, tallying his first career short-handed goal, in the 2-0 win over the Fighting Hawks.
