EAST LANSING - Attempting to fend off an upset at home against Western Michigan last week, No. 4 USC took a seven-point lead midway through the fourth quarter.
Then the Trojans put the ball in the hands of Darius Phillips and, 13 seconds later, it was a tie game as he returned a kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown. For Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio, it brought back memories.
"Yeah," he said with a smile. "Bad ones."
