KALAMAZOO, MI -- Some extra waves to the crowd accompanied Meredith Shipman's ever-present smile at the end of the Western Michigan women's basketball game Monday night.
The Broncos (18-12) defeated Miami (Ohio) 73-66 in Shipman's final game in University Arena, and she didn't disappoint with her performance.
The lone senior scored 30 points, grabbed five steals and pulled down five rebounds to help her team advance to the second round of the MAC tournament where it will meet top seed Central Michigan at noon Wednesday at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland.
"It doesn't feel real yet," Shipman said of her impending career end as a Bronco.
