Late Inning Rally Falls Short as WMU Falls to CMU

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Mid-American Conference rival Central Michigan held off a ninth-inning Bronco rally to hand Western Michigan baseball a 4-2 loss on Saturday afternoon at Robert J. Bobb Stadium at Hyames Field.

Trailing by three heading into the bottom of the ninth the Broncos loaded the bases with one out and scored a run thanks to an RBI sacrifice fly by redshirt junior Andrew Stone. WMU brought the winning run to the plate with two outs before a fly out to center field ended the late-inning rally.

WMU now has an overall record of 15-17 and 5-7 in MAC play while CMU improves its overall record to 14-22-1 and 8-6 in MAC play.
