KALAMAZOO, Mich.- Western Michigan redshirt sophomore quarterback Jon Wassink has been named Academic All-District by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Wassink will now be on the ballot for Academic All-America consideration, with those award winners announced in December.
Wassink earned a spot on the District 5 Academic All-District First Team, which is made up of schools from the states of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Ohio. To be eligible for CoSIDA Academic All-District recognition, student-athletes must be a starter or important reserve on his/her respective team with a minimum 3.30 cumulative GPA.
