DETROIT – Western Michigan men's basketball got a career-high 20 points from sophomore Brandon Johnson and 30 points from senior Thomas Wilder en route to a 87-79 victory over Detroit Mercy on Saturday afternoon.
The victory inside Calihan Hall was the first for the Broncos since coming away with a 60-59 victory back in 2007. Western Michigan improves its overall record to 6-4 and will enjoy more than a week off before its next game on Monday, Dec.18 against Idaho inside University Arena.
Johnson neared a double-double against the Titans, scoring a career-high 20 points and recording nine rebounds.
