Western Michigan men’s tennis senior Jannik Opitz has been one of the best tennis players in the country during his time in college.
Opitz was immensely successful at the high school level in his home country of Germany, finishing second in doubles at the German National Championships and was a finalist in the Junior ITF in 2015. Head Coach Dave Morin was enamored with Opitz’s potential at the college level.
“We were sold on him. He had some really significant results in Germany that really caught my attention,” Morin said.
In the fall of 2016, Opitz would join the roster and have immediate success.
