KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Western Michigan men's tennis senior Jannik Opitz has been named a CoSIDA First Team Academic All-District selection for the third time in his career.
Opitz, who recently wrapped up his career as the winningest athlete all-time in the history of the program, is now eligible for Academic All-American honors and has the potential to become the first male student-athlete in WMU history to be a three-time Academic All-American.
The 2020-21 Academic All-District® Men's At-Large Team, selected by College Sports Information Directors of America, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
