KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Western Michigan men's tennis' Jannik Opitz has been named Google Cloud CoSIDA First Team Academic All-American, as voted upon by the College Sports Information Directors of American.
Opitz holds a 4.0 GPA in finance and earned CoSIDA First Team Academic All-District honors, along with Academic All-Mid-American Conference honors. The Hildesheim, Germany native was a First Team All-MAC selection and named the MAC Player of the Year after helping lead WMU to both a MAC regular season and tournament championship. Opitz posted a 13-4 overall record at No. 1 singles, including 6-1 in the MAC.
