KALAMAZOO, MI -- Western Michigan is coming off its best season in program history, but the University of Southern California has plenty of momentum heading into the teams’ 2017 season opener.
After a 1-3 start, the Trojans ended the season with nine consecutive wins, including a 52-49 victory over Big Ten champion Penn State in the Rose Bowl.
The Broncos capped their 2016 campaign with a 24-16 Cotton Bowl loss to Wisconsin, which marked the final college game for Western’s record-setting senior class.
