KALAMAZOO, Mich. – After splitting with Minnesota-Duluth on the road last weekend, the Western Michigan hockey team has moved up No. 15 in the latest USCHO.com poll and up to 14 in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll.
After falling to the then-ranked No. 12 Bulldogs on Friday, WMU responded with a 5-0 shutout on Saturday. The shutout was the first of the season for the Broncos. Western Michigan popped back into the national rankings last week after sweeping No. 1 Denver.
The Broncos resume National Collegiate Hockey Conference play this weekend, hosting Omaha on Friday and Saturday.
