Hockey Falls at No. 7 North Dakota, 2-1

GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- The sixth-ranked Western Michigan hockey team fell on the road at No. 7 North Dakota, 2-1, on Friday night.

UND goalie Zach Driscoll stopped 34 of WMU's 35 shots on the night to hold the Broncos (20-9-1, 12-8-1 NCHC) to just the lone goal.

The Fighting Hawks took a 1-0 lead on a goal at 13:41 in the first period. Jake Schmaltz found Ashton Calder in front of the net and he redirected the puck past Brandon Bussi for the game's first goal.

Freshman defenseman Jacob Bauer tied the game up at 1-1 at 7:28 in the second period.
