KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan University gymnastics team set a program record in team scoring, and junior Payton Murphy posted the program's best ever all-around score (39.375), as the Broncos defeated Mid-American Conference foe Bowling Green, 196.225-192.725, inside University Arena on Sunday afternoon.
The Broncos (2-0) got off to a scorching start on the vault, registering a team score of 49.000, led by even winner Sarah Moravansky. She posted a score of 9.875, while Ronni Binstock and Murphy scored 9.800.
On bars, Murphy came out on top with a 9.
