KALAMAZOO, MI -- The Western Michigan women's basketball team handled Bowling Green in a confident manner Wednesday night, and the play of a certain sophomore was electric.
Deja Wimby of Fort Wayne, Indiana, sprinted from player to player, attending to defensive needs as play moved down the court, disrupting passing lanes and shooting positions.
The Broncos (12-3, 3-1 Mid-American Conference) defeated the Falcons (5-11, 1-3) 75-58 and Wimby finished with a game-high 20 points and 10 assists.
Bowling Green played strong, physical basketball, setting screens that oftentimes took Bronco players off their feet. Wimby, at just 5-foot-7, knew early-on that speed and tenacity would be her ways to affect the game.
