BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -- The Western Michigan gymnastics program had 13 student-athletes qualify for Academic All-America status from the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association.
The Broncos contributed to a record-setting season for the WCGA, which saw 58 teams post a grade-point average of 3.5 or better during the year, as well as 1,059 gymnasts who posted an individual GPA of 3.5 or better. It marks the first time that more than 1,000 gymnasts posted a 3.5 GPA or better and represented 73.19-percent of all Division I women's gymnasts.
This capped a historic campaign for head coach 's squad, which reached an NCAA Regional for the first time in the modern era in March.
