KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- Western Michigan University gymnastics head coach Penny Jernigan has announced her team's 2021 schedule, opening on Jan. 24 with a home meet against Northern Illinois, and slated to conclude with the 2021 Mid-American Conference Gymnastics Championships at WMU's Read Fieldhouse.
"Our 2021 competition schedule has been through several revisions because of COVID-19 concerns. It has all come down to what we believe is safest for our student-atheltes, coaches and staff," Jernigan said of the slate. "We're pleased to have it finalized now and know exactly when we'll have the opportunity to start competing.
