CLEVELAND – Western Michigan gymnastics fifth-year seniors Amanda Gruber and Payton Murphy have been named as 2024 Mid-American Conference Gymnasts to Watch by the league's coaches as the preseason poll and watch list were released on Friday morning.
The Broncos were picked to finish third with 26 points and received one vote to win the MAC Tournament. Ball State and Central Michigan tied for first place with 32 points, but the Cardinals had four first place votes to the Chippewa's two.
Gruber is one of the top performers on beam in the conference, having tied for second place at last season's MAC Tournament after posting a score of 9.
