OLDSMAR, Fla. -- The Western Michigan golf team repeated as Butler Don Benbow Spring Invitational Champions after closing out the tournament with a 316, edging out the host Bulldogs by four strokes at East Lake Woodlands Golf Club on Tuesday.
WMU led going into the final round, but in the stretch run the Broncos had dropped back to second place, passed up by Fairleigh Dickinson, but Knights faded and WMU held steady to secure the trophy.
This is the 20th tournament win in program history and the second under head coach Kim Moore.
