German sparks Northern Illinois past Western Michigan 75-67

DEKALB, Ill. -- Eugene German scored 21 of his 31 points in the second half and Northern Illinois dominated after intermission to post a 75-67 victory over Western Michigan on Saturday.

German, a sophomore guard, hit 11 of 22 shots from the floor and has scored in double figures in all 27 games this season for the Huskies (12-15, 5-9 Mid-American Conference). German came in with a 20.1 scoring average -- tops in the MAC. Levi Bradley made all nine of his free throws and added 21 points for Northern Illinois, which shot 53 percent from the floor and 82 percent (18 of 22) at the free-throw line.
