Brandon Petersen was not a well-known name for Bronco baseball fans coming into this season. Having thrown just 26.1 innings over the past four years, few would have expected him to emerge as a consistent starting pitcher in year five.
Someone forgot to tell him that.
Petersen announced his presence immediately in his first starting opportunity, shutting out Akron in a seven-inning complete game, striking out 12 batters while allowing just one hit.
“That was something special,” said Petersen of his performance that day. “I had never really gotten to experience something like that (before) in my college career.
