MUNICH, Germany – The Western Michigan Hockey program will have its first ever alum compete in the Olympics after Frederik Tiffels was selected to represent Germany at the upcoming 2022 Winter Olympics Games in Beijing.
The Olympics officially begin on Feb. 4 and run through Feb. 20. Germany opens group play on Feb. 10 against Canada, also playing China on Feb. 12 and the United States on Feb. 13.
Tiffels played three seasons with the Broncos from 2014-17, appearing in 105 career games with 59 points on 27 goals and 32 assists. During his junior campaign he had 21 points on nine goals and 12 assists and helped the Broncos to a NCAA Tournament berth.
