Former Bronco Flenard Whitfield Signs Contract in NBL Canada

TORONTO – Former Western Michigan men's basketball player Flenard Whitfield has signed a one-year contract with the Kitchener-Waterloo Titans of the National Basketball League of Canada (NBLC) announced on Thursday by Slan Sports Management.

Whitfield played at WMU from 2008-12, registering 1,256 career points which ranks 14th in program history. During his freshman season at WMU, Whitfield averaged 5.5 points and 4.1 rebounds per game en route to MAC All-Freshman team honors. Whitfield ranks fifth all-time in career games played at WMU with 125.

The Detroit, Mich., native began in professional career by signing with the Albury Wodonga Bandits in the South East Australian Basketball league for the 2013 summer season.
