IRVING, Texas – The Western Michigan football team had nine players named to the 2017 National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society this week. The number is seven more than last year's total of two. Making the list this season were Kasey Carson, Lucas Cherocci, James Coleman, David Curle, Austin Guido, Kristof Ifkovits, Taylor Moton, Trevor Sweeney and Zach Terrell.
The NFF named Terrell the 2016 William V. Campbell Trophy recipient, given to the most outstanding scholar-athlete in the country.
