Entire WMU Hockey Freshmen Class Earns NCHC Academic Honors

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Western Michigan hockey's entire freshmen class has earned National Collegiate Hockey Conference Academic All-Conference Team and NCHC Scholar Athlete Honors as released by the league office on Wednesday.

Defenseman Ronnie Attard (3.67), defenseman Scooter Brickey (3.70), forward Jason Polin (3.88) and goalie Brandon Bussi (3.89) earned both honors.

To be eligible for the NCHC Academic All-Conference Team, a student-athlete must compile a 3.0 cumulative grade-point average or better while having completed at least one academic year at his current institution. Student-athletes that have accrued a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or better are honored as NCHC Distinguished Scholar-Athletes, in addition to Academic All-Conference.
