Defense Stifels Minutemen in 21-3 Road Win

AMHERST, Mass. -- The Western Michigan football team picked up its third-straight win and first Mid-American Conference road win of the season after taking down Massachusetts, 21-3, at McGuirk Alumni Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The Bronco (3-3, 2-0 MAC) defense allowed just 260 yards of total yards, including just 57 on the ground. WMU recorded five sacks, led by Nadame Tucker with two, and forced one turnover. Graduate transfer linebacker Sefa Saipaia Jr. led the team with nine tackles and also had 1.5 tackles for loss.

Redshirt sophomore quarterback Broc Lowry threw for 163 yards and one touchdown, completing 18-of-25 passes.
