The Western Michigan University football team announced Wednesday that they have fired defensive coordinator Tim Daoust after two seasons, effective immediately.
The firing comes one day after the Broncos completed a three-game stretch in which they gave up 152 points combined to Toledo, Ohio and Ball State. The Bronco defense has given up 34.5 points per game, the third-most in the Mid-American Conference, at least 40 points five times, and at least 50 three times this season.
Defensive line coach and co-defensive coordinator Lou Esposito was named the interim defensive coordinator for the rest of the 2018 season.
