CLEVELAND – On Monday the Mid-American Conference announced that Western Michigan baseball junior infielder Connor Smith was named MAC Baseball Co-Player of the Week.
Over the weekend against Northern Illinois, Smith led the Broncos with a .571 batting average while also registering an on-base percentage of .600 and a slugging percentage of .571. Smith drove in four runs and scored two in the three-game series with the Huskies. In 14 plate appearances, Smith had zero strikeouts and defensively committed no errors.
In the series finale on Sunday, Smith had a historic day at the plate going 6-for-6 with one run scored and four RBIs.
