The Chippewas took their first lead of the game on a 77-yard touchdown pass from Shane Morris to Corey Willis with 5:50 left in the fourth quarter. Morris hadn’t had much success through the air before that play, but the senior graduate transfer from Michigan dropped the long pass right into Willis’ hands.

CMU forced a WMU turnover on downs on the Broncos ensuing possession to seal the comeback win.

After allowing CMU to march for a touchdown on its first drive of the second half, WMU responded with a score of its own on a 9-yard touchdown run from Jarvion Franklin, in which the senior running back stiff armed a Chippewas’ defender for the final 2 yards.
