Burke, Dobbs, Kahn and Sargent Named MAC Distinguished Scholar Athletes

CLEVELAND – The Western Michigan women's soccer team had four student-athletes earn Mid-American Conference Distinguish Scholar Athlete honors on Saturday.

Alyssa Burke (3.86, interpersonal communication), Paige Dobbs (3.96, biomedical sciences), Hannah Kahn (3.86, occupational therapy) and Hannah Sargent (4.00, aerospace engineering) were voted by the MAC's faculty academic representatives (FARs) to receive the prestigious honor.

The Distinguished Scholar Athlete is a fifth-year award given to students who have excelled in athletics and academics. Following each season from the fall sports schedule, any student with a 3.20 GPA and participation in at least 50 percent of the contests was automatically named to the previously announced Academic All-MAC Team from each sport.
