BLOOMINGTON, Ind., -- The Western Michigan track and field wrapped up the first day of competition at Indiana University's Gladstein Invitational late Friday evening, while also competing at the Grand Valley State Open in Allendale, Mich.
The top finish of the day at the Gladstein came from junior distance runner Hanne Christensen in the 5,000-meter run. The Grand Blanc, Mich., native took third overall with a time of 17:39.36, an indoor personal best. Redshirt freshman Sarah Anderson continued her strong start to the indoor season. Anderson took over 10 seconds off of her previous personal-best in the mile run, taking eighth place with a time of 4:57.
