TEMPE, Ariz.- Western Michigan softball was the victim of two come-behind rallies, falling to Virginia 9-8 in eight innings and Stanford 3-2 Friday at the Kajikawa Classic in Tempe, Ariz.
WMU started off hot in the opening game of the day, taking a 7-0 lead into the sixth against Virginia. The Cavaliers tied the score with seven runs in the sixth and outscored the Broncos 2-1 in the eighth to pull off the comeback.
The Broncos held a 2-0 lead headed into the bottom of the seventh against Stanford and once again came up on the wrong side of the score as the Cardinal scored three runs in their last at bat.
