TOLEDO, Ohio- The Western Michigan softball team defeated Toledo 9-4 on the road Saturday to win this weekend's three-game Mid-American Conference series two games to one. The Bronco and Rockets split a doubleheader on Friday.
Western Michigan pounded out 13 hits in the series finale, scoring three runs in the second inning, four runs in the third and two runs in the fourth.
Senior Ivy Schaaf batted 3-for-4 in the game with a walk, three RBIs and a run scored. Schaaf drove in a run with a single down the left line in the second inning and then drove in two with a double in the third.
